Matthew 6:14-15
"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive you."

I read this verse today. It's funny how certain things in my life will bring up stuff in the bible that I'm not expecting to make much of a difference and then it hits me in the face. Anyway, I was listening to this song that is a soon to be choir special. It prompted a closer look at prayer. Right before this verse is maybe the most famous prayer of all time. Why does Jesus teach his disciples how to pray and then with the same breath tells them to forgive those that have wronged them, then continuing to say if you don't forgive then God won't forgive you.

During this study for Exchange of finding my identity in Christ. I came across a story of Peter and John when they were starting ministry in the early church. Peter and John are preaching the name of Jesus to the people in Acts 3 after healing a crippled beggar who was never able to walk. They are arrested by the religious leaders and brought before the Sanhedrin. The guys in the Sanhedrin aren't anything to mess with. They were highly educated and greatly respected. When they said jump the Jews asked how high, how far, and with what intensity. Standing before them because you did something they didn't like wasn't a place where anyone wanted to be. They knew everything you could know about the Old Testament. In fact, they had it memorized. These leaders were the elite.

Peter and John. Well, they weren't elite. They didn't have the bible memorized. Here is what I related with-- Acts 4:13 "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus."

After 5 weeks of studying the purpose of life, we ended this last week talking about Honor - Giving honor and glory to Jesus is the greatest thing we can do. As I have studied the last few weeks I have realized how easy it is to forget our purpose, just moving through life forgetting that I am really here to do something. I have to remember each and every day that God is working out something in my life. Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." As I look back over my life

Well, I apologize Internet. I have been hard pressed to spend time with you lately. Unfortunately the web is a much larger place than the real world. Even my own cyberspace is larger than the reality that I actually live and breathe in. I have pages that I have rights to change and I haven't seen, let alone edit, them in years. So, please accept my most sincere apology for neglecting you, but I would much rather be a man that neglects his blog than one that neglects his wife, dog, or chipotle burrito.
Everyone's got their priorities. Don't get me wrong; I am not where near perfect. Nope. Not even close. I constantly neglect things that I shouldn't, put things off until the last minute, and forget important things, replacing them in my mental hard drive with monkeys riding motorcycles. Good thing God pulls me back in constantly. Otherwise I would wonder aimlessly.
The reason I wanted to write this post is to say that I want to start writing more. This blog, though it has been many things, will remain one thing throughout the years: a reminder of where I have been and what I have done. And that is important. We learn most when we look at where we are and what we are doing. So I hope to write more. Cause it would be a shame to forget. It's time to start over. Or maybe just pick it back up. This time ill sign with a new name.

Life comes at you quick. I can not believe how fast life is flying by at the present. I have spent the last few months thinking about the last four years; getting to know my soon-to-be wife, living in one of the greatest cities in the United States, being a student at a world renowned bible college, serving at a great church, being drawn into a deeper relationship with God. I can't tell you how blessed I have been through these last few years. God has been working in so many significant ways as I have gone through my life here at MBI. All I can say is that I owe everything to Him.
